What we collect, why we keep it, and who can see it. Last updated Oct 20, 2026. Plain words, Canadian law.

Named Local Visibility collects as little as we need to run the free AI check and our service. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Questions or requests: hello@trynamed.com.

What we collect

  • Free AI check: your business name, city, business type, email, and optionally your name and website.
  • Audit, partner and contact forms: your name, business, email, phone and what you tell us.
  • Clients: business details, review-request contacts you add, and results we produce.
  • Public business information we use to compare businesses, such as names, websites, review counts and ratings, and the answers AI assistants give.

IP addresses are hashed, never stored

To stop abuse of the free check we limit how many checks one connection can run per day. We do this with a salted one-way hash of your IP address. We never store your raw IP address, and the hash cannot be turned back into it.

Email consent (CASL)

We email your check result and replies to forms because you asked for them. These are transactional messages.

We only send tips, offers and other marketing email if you tick the consent box. The box is never pre-ticked, and the check works the same without it. We record when you gave consent. Every marketing email includes our contact details and a working unsubscribe link, and an unsubscribe takes effect right away (the law allows up to 10 business days).

How we use it

  • To run your check or service and show you the results.
  • To contact you about your request.
  • To send marketing email, only with your consent.
  • To keep the service secure and within cost limits.

The data wall

We help you get named for what you do best. We never use your data to help anyone else. One client's data, prompts, plans and results are never shown to another client. Access inside Named is limited to the people who run your account.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We use service providers to run the service:

  • Hosting and database (Vercel, Supabase).
  • AI assistants (OpenAI, Google, Perplexity, Anthropic): we send them questions about businesses, not your personal details.
  • Payments (Stripe), email (Resend) and text messages (Twilio).

Some providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States.

How long we keep it

  • Free check leads that do not become clients: up to 24 months after the last contact, then deleted or anonymised.
  • IP hashes for rate limits: up to 90 days.
  • Client records and raw AI answers (kept as proof of results): for the life of the contract plus 24 months, and longer only where tax law requires (billing records, 6 years).
  • Review-request contacts: deleted within 12 months of the request.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw consent, by emailing hello@trynamed.com. We reply within 30 days. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Cookies

We use a login cookie for clients and, when you arrive from a partner's link, a cookie that remembers their referral code for 30 days. We do not use advertising cookies.
